The Omaha Tribe of Nebraska is on track to open its permanent casino in Iowa in February 2014.

The tribe held a beam signing ceremony at the Blackbird Bend Casino on Friday. The facility has been operating in a temporary building after its old casino was flooded in the summer of 2011.

"The flooding of the Missouri River really damaged the old CasinOmaha, but it didn't damage the spirit of the Omaha people. And, to put it in casino terms, the Omaha tribe was dealt a bad hand, but they never folded," CEO Kurt Schmidt told KTIV-TV.
