The city council in Medford, Oregon, will send a delegation to Washington, D.C., to fight an off-reservation casino proposed by the Coquille Tribe.

The city hopes to meet with the Bureau of Indian Affairs. The tribe has submitted a land-into-trust application to use a 2.42-acre site for a Class II facility.

The city has allocated a little more than $132,000 to fight the casino.
