Three tribes are bidding for commercial casinos in Massachusetts.

The Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation of Connecticut wants to open a casino in the eastern part of the state. Scott C. Butera, the president and CEO of Foxwoods Resort Casino, will be presenting the plan to the city of Milford on Monday.

The Mohegan Tribe, also of Connecticut, is looking at the western part of Massachusetts. So is Hard Rock International, which is owned by the Seminole Tribe of Florida.

The Massachusetts Gaming Commission expects to award the licenses for the two regions in early 2014.
