The Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska is winning local support for its proposed commercial casino in Iowa.

Commissioners in Dakota County and Thurston County, both in Nebraska, voted to support the Warrior Casino & Hotel. The $122 million facility would be located in Sioux City, Iowa, just across the border from Nebraska.

The tribe and two other groups have submitted applications to the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission for the casino. A decision is expected in spring 2013.
