New Haskell president getting to know campus

The new president of the Haskell Indian Nations University in Kansas has been busy since assuming the position on April 2.

Linda Warner, a member of the Comanche Nation of Oklahoma, has been meeting faculty, students and staff. It's part of her 90-day plan to get to know the campus better, before she proposes any changes.

Some of the issues she is looking at include cuts in federal funding and faculty recruitment. The school receives $9.1 million a year from the Bureau of Indian Affairs.

Warner's mother and children attended Haskell.
