BIA set to choose new Haskell University president

A new president of Haskell Indian Nations University in Kansas could be named soon.

Haskell officials narrowed their search to two candidates. Dr. John Derby is director of student services at the Flandreau Indian School in South Dakota. Dr. Linda Sue Warner is the associate vice chancellor for academic affairs at the Tennessee Board of Regents.

The final decision will be made by Tom Dowd, the director of the Bureau of Indian Education at the Bureau of Indian Affairs. No timeline has been given, News 6 of Lawrence reported.
