Former members of the Enterprise Rancheria of California held a protest outside the tribal offices this past weekend.
About 30 people participated. The tribe has removed 72 people from the rolls.
Robert Edwards, one of the ousted members, says the people were removed for speaking out against the tribal leadership and signing a recall petition. He is trying to appeal his disenrollment.
California Indians who have been removed from their tribes will hold a protest on Friday morning at 9am during the last day of the National Congress of American Indians conference in Sacramento.
