Former members of some of the wealthiest tribes in California will hold a rally in Palm Springs on Thursday to call attention to their struggle.
The rally is being organized by Mark and Carla Maslin. Carla Maslin was kicked out of the Redding Rancheria, a gaming tribe in northern California.
Former members of other tribes, including the Pechanga Band of Luiseno Indians, are scheduled to attend the rally, which coincides with the Western Indian Gaming Conference. Tribal leaders will be meeting this week to discuss tribal gaming and other Indian issues.
The rally is slated to begin at 11:00am at the Palm Springs Convention Center.
