Former members of the Table Mountain Rancheria in northern California held a protest at the tribe's powwow over the weekend.
The protesters say they were kicked out of the tribe for financial reasons. The tribe operates a lucrative casino and some of the profits are distributed to enrolled members.
Joining the former Table Mountain members were leaders of the American Indian Rights and Resources. The group is trying to call attention to the 1,500 people it says have been kicked out of California tribes.
The powwow took place June 9-11 [Powwows.com Info].
