A federal judge rejected imprisoned American Indian Movement activist Leonard Peltier's latest bid to overturn his sentence for the murders of two FBI agents.
Peltier argued that the federal government lacked authority to try him because the crimes occurred on the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota in July 1975. But the judge said the government can try anyone for killing FBI agents regardless of where the crimes occurred.
Peltier, 60, was given two life sentences for the murders. He was recently moved to a new prison.
