AUGUST 7, 2000 Will Rogers and an image of an Indian chief are two suggestions being made for a dome atop the state capitol building in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The dome was envisioned back in 1917 when the capitol was built. But it was never actually constructed. The public is being asked to share potential visions for the dome. Famed Broadway author Will Rogers, Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma, has been suggested. A statue depicting a white farmer meeting and shaking hands with an Indian chief has also been suggested.
