WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 19, 2001

Assistant Secretary Neal McCaleb wasn't the only one stranded during last week's terrorist attacks. Supreme Court Justices Sandra Day O'Connor and Stephen G. Breyer were also left without transportation amid the crisis.

Except the pair were in India. They had been there on a judicial exchange program and wanted to come back home.

But apparently, the State Department and the Defense Department had a bit of trouble finding suitable transportation for O'Connor and Breyer. Luckily, they were able to catch a flight out of New Delhi and made it home.
