MAY 4, 2000

An estimated 1,000 to 2,000 Alaska Natives and their supporters took to the streets of downtown Anchorage to call for greater subsistence rights for the state's indigenous population. With natural resources in great demand by all groups, Alaskan Natives are calling for a Native preference for the fish and wildlife that sustain them.
