U.S. may skip children's conference

TUESDAY, AUGUST 28, 2001 The Bush administration may skip out on an upcoming international conference on children's health because a proposed agenda supports abortion counseling services for adolescents, State Department officials said on Monday. Spokesperson Charles Hunter said the administration will decide whether or not to send a delegate to the United Nations' World Summit for Children. It begins September 19. State Department officials are currently in New York participating in discussions to set the agenda for the three-day summit. Get the Story:
