Tourists worried about the Bush administration's push to open up the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge in Alaska to oil and gas drilling have helped increase reservations at touring companies up 80 percent from last year.

The last time such a spike in interest occurred in 1990, when the elder President Bush tried to open the refuge to development.

With the Democrats in control of the White House, the ANWR proposal is being viewed as dead.
