Two government watchdog groups are calling on the Department of Energy not to restart a controversial nuclear reactor at the Hanford Nuclear Reservation in Washington.

The groups say the Bush administration has ties to the nuclear industry that wants to benefit commercially from restarting the Fast Flux Test Facility. The Clinton administration had ordered it shut down by Secretary of Energy Spencer Abraham reversed the decision.

The Hanford Nuclear Reservation is located on former tribal land ceded in a 19th century treaty.
