FRIDAY, DECEMBER 14, 2001 "In your Dec. 7 editorial, you advised the towns of Ledyard, Preston and North Stonington to resume the talks with the Mashantuckets that U.S. Rep. Rob Simmons has facilitated. . . The editors should not be advising the selectmen of North Stonington to violate an ordinance that is supported by our residents. Instead of advising us to “negotiate” more land for the tribe, they should be demanding that Congress first establish the present boundaries of the Settlement Area. In other words, they should support our efforts to send this issue back to Washington where it was created. . ." Get the Story:
