THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 27, 2001 The Bureau of Indian Affairs and the Gallatin National Forest are investigating complaints of discrimination by four Indian fire crews. Four crews from the Rocky Boy’s, Fort Belknap, Northern Cheyenne and Blackfeet Reservations were dismissed last month for reportedly not keeping their fire camp clean. The 80 men say they were treated poorly when asked to leave. The crews were fighting the Little Joe fire near Yellowstone National Park when the August 28 incident occurred. Get the Story:
