Newspaper editor kidnapped at knifepoint

MAY 3, 2001 Sioux Falls Argus Leader city editor Maricarrol Kueter was kidnapped on Tuesday night at gun-point by an escapee from a local county jail. Kueter says she bit Anthony Curtis Flowers before she was tied up in a bed sheet and forced to sit in the front seat of her car as he drove 100 miles to Sioux City, Iowa. Flowers released Keuter there. Authorities are still looking for Flowers, a convicted bank robber who is a suspect in bank robberies in Iowa and Nebraska. Get the Story:
