OCTOBER 9, 2000 The Italian-American group who held the first Columbus Day parade in nine years plan to file for next year's parade today, reported The Denver Post. American Indian activists said they will try to change the observed holiday. But one Italiam-American activist said the holiday is a national holiday for Italians and to ask to change it is like ending Martin Luther King Day for African-Americans. Get the Story:
