Minn. tribe donates to GOPs

MONDAY, APRIL 22, 2002 Flush with casino profits, the Prairie Island Dakota Tribe of Minnesota has donated $37,000 recently to Republicans. The money included a $25,000 check to Norm Coleman, the GOP candidate for senator. The tribe donated the money because Coleman supports a national nuclear waste dump that would get rid of spent nuclear fuel sitting on land next to the reservation. Since January 2001, the tribe has made $86,000 in political contributions, according to The Minneapolis Star Tribune. Get the Story:
