N.M. Indian director on paid leave

MONDAY, DECEMBER 10, 2001 Terry Aguilar, the executive director of the New Mexico State Commission on Indian Affairs, has been put on paid leave while the state Risk Management Division investigates allegations he sexually harassed a co-worker. No formal claim has been filed yet, however, said the General Services Department. The Santa Fe New Mexican reported that an office worker said Aguilar would return to work this week. Aguilar took over the position after the former director, Regis Pecos, resigned last year amid controversy over his alcohol-related arrests. Pecos is currently Governor of Cochiti Pueblo. Aguilar is the Lt. Governor of San Ildefonso Pueblo. Get the Story:
