On Neal McCaleb
APRIL 17, 2001 The following statement was made by Oklahoma Governor Frank Keating today. "I am thrilled that President Bush has selected Neal McCaleb to head the Bureau of Indian Affairs. "Neal has been an outstanding and vital member of my Cabinet and is a trusted friend and adviser. Under his leadership, we were able to embark on the largest roadbuilding plan in Oklahoma history. “Neal has a long record of public service in Oklahoma, and he’ll bring tremendous leadership skills to the Bureau of Indian Affairs. Neal will be very difficult to replace as Secretary of Transportation. I will name his successor as soon as possible."
