Norton hearing begins today

JANUARY 18, 2001 Gale Norton, George W. Bush's controversial nominee to head the Department of Interior, faces confirmation hearings today before the Senate Committee on Natural Resources. The hearing will be broadcast live via the web on the Committee's website beginning at 2:30PM Eastern Standard Time. It will also be televised on CSPAN3, whose live feed can also be viewed online. Senator Jeff Bingaman (D-N.Mex) will chair the hearing in which Norton is scheduled to be the only witness. Time has been reserved on Friday for continuation of Norton's hearing or for that of Spencer Abraham, nominated to be Secretary of Energy. Relevant Links:
