Ex-Enron chair criticized by Congress

WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 13, 2002 Kenneth Lay, the former chairman of failed energy company Enron, went before Congress on Tuesday but didn't respond to questions posed by the Senate Commerce Committee. That didn't matter much, as members from both parties were more than willing to bash Lay for Enron's bankruptcy and his silence. The tongue lashing lasted until Lay formally invoked his right against self-incrimination and was summarily excused. Get the Story:
