AUGUST 15, 2000 The new tribal council of the Mohegan Tribe of Connecticut will decide whether or not to become a founding member of the Native American Bancorporation. The tribe will elect a new council on August 27. If they agree, the tribe will join a host of others who have invested in the Denver-based bank. The Eastern Shoshone of the Wind River reservation in Wyoming recently invested $1 million to become a founding partner. Other founding members include the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Ojibwe of Michigan, the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation of Connecticut, the Arctic Slope Regional Corp. of Alaska, the Sealaska Corp. or Alaska, the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe of South Dakota, Puyallup International of the Puyallup Tribe of Washington, the Mille Lacs Ojibwe of Minnesota , the Seminole Nation, the Ute Mountain Tribe, the Navajo Nation, the Table Mountain Rancheria in California, and the Three Affiliated Tribes ofthe Fort Berthold Reservation in North Dakota.
