JULY 27, 2000 The Delaware Tribe of Oklahoma seeks to purchase an 80 acre tract of land to open a casino, resort, and entertainment complex near the airport in Lawrence, Kansas. Chief Dee Ketchum said he realizes the process is a lengthy one. Buying the land to opening the doors of the complex could take up to two years. Ketchum says the land is part of the tribe's old reservation before they were moved to Oklahoma. Currently four tribes in Kansas have gaming operations in the Northeastern corner of the state.
