Tribe's stadium proposal dropped

FEBRUARY 2, 2001 The Tourism and Sports Authority on Thursday dropped from consideration a proposal made by the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation to host a football stadium for the Arizona Cardinals. The tribe's offer was one of the most detailed of the four proposal submitted for consideration. It was also seen as one of the most financially enticing but its location, east of Phoenix, was seen as limiting its chances. The Authority narrowed the field to a site in Tempe and another in the West Valley. Get the Story:
