Seminole Nation sued over gaming

JANUARY 24, 2001 The US Attorney's Office in Muskogee on Friday filed suit against the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma, alleging the tribe is operating gaming devices illegaly. The action seeks to enforce a National Indian Gaming Commission order to shut down the games the tribe offers at three locations. The electronic games of chance are prohibited to the tribe because they don't have a compact with the state. Get the Story:
