The Menominee Nation of Wisconsin has expressed confidence it will meet a December 31 deadline to secure federal and state approval for their off-reservation casino in Kenosha.

Agreements with local officials will expire if the tribe doesn't get the outside approval. The tribe and Governor Tommy Thompson recently signed an agreement last month and a developer for the tribe says the Bureau of Indian Affairs is ready to complete its review of the proposal.
