The developers of a proposed Wonderful World of Oz theme park in Kansas on Monday failed to pay back $400,000 they have owed to a utility board for more than 10 years.

The company had been given 120 days to pay a total of $550,000 owed to two counties and the Kansas Board of Public Utilities. The money was given for a feasibility study of the park.

Oz Entertainment Co. paid $75,000 each to the counties but has not paid the board debt. Due to the wraggling, the project for the theme park is on its death bed.

The Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma had jumped into the battle, asking Secretary of Interior Gale Norton to take land for the site into trust. The tribe said it had previously used the land at the Sunflower Ammunitions Plant and should be given it back.
