Robert Blaeser is the first Native American judge in Hennepin County, Minnesota. A founding member of the Minnesota American Indian Bar Association, the White Earth Ojibwe is Chief Judge of the Juvenile Court and an expert in Indian child welfare.

His appointment to the two-year term was scheduled to begin on January 1 of next year but the previous judge resigned and he took over in May.

Blaser graduated from the University of Minnesota Law School.
