Congress too busy for Pequots?

JUNE 8, 2000 Currently involved in several high profile investigations, including the Cerro Grande fire and other fires, the US House Committee on Resources may be too busy to deal with a Congressional probe on the Mashantucket Pequot Settlement Act of 1983. According to spokesman Steven Hansen, the Committee has not received a copy of Representative Sam Gejdenson's (D Conn) letter requesting a congressional probe but said the Committee staff first has to review the letter and then make a recommendation to Chair Representative Don Young (D Alaska), who will make the final decision. The Committee can also refer the matter to other agencies. Get the Story:
