Indian School property plans postponed

MARCH 6, 2001 The Albuquerque City Council on Monday delayed a vote on rules guiding development on a contested piece of tribally owned property. The Bureau of Indian Affairs previously agreed to take the old Albuquerque Indian School property into trust for New Mexico's 19 Pueblos. But after the city challenged the decision, the BIA was ordered to clarify the action. The city now wants to enter into an agreement with the Pueblos over how the land could be developed.
