MARCH 26, 2001 The Department of Interior has agreed to take 12 acres of land into trust for the Mohegan Tribe of Connecticut. The land consists of four separate parcels and increases the current size of the tribe's reservation to 404 acres. When the tribe settled its land claims with the state of Connecticut in 1994, the state and local towns agreed not to challenge any trust land acquisitions up to 700 acres and those located within a particular settlement area.
