Pequot Tribe asked to pay for roads

FEBRUARY 27, 2001 In a hearing before the Connecticut Legislature's Transportation Committee, Senator Edith G. Prague on Monday discussed a bill she has introduced that will require the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation to pay for road improvements near its casino. Prague's bill would require the tribe to pay for all improvements within a 25-mile radius of the casino. She is targeting only the Pequot Tribe because the Mohegan Tribe has helped pay for road projects in the past. Get the Story:
