Congressman praised on Indian issues

FEBRUARY 16, 2001 A number of Connecticut local officials on Thursday praised freshman Representative Rob Simmons (R-Conn) for listening to them air ther issues about federal recognition, gaming, and trust land acquisision. The group met with Simmons yesterday and said Simmons will be responsive and draft new legislation affecting their concerns. Simmons last week held a Congressional field hearing on recognition and the 1983 Mashantucket Pequot Settlement Act. Get the Story:
