JANUARY 9, 2000 The Zapatista National Liberation Army, leaders of an Indian-rights movement in southern Mexico, on Monday said its leader and 25 members will march from Chiapas to the capital to meet with new President Vicente Fox. The group plans on leaving San Cristobal de las Casas on February 25. They plan to arrive in Mexico City, 460 miles away, on March 6. Fox has promised a new era of relations with the nation's Indian residents. He has released 17 Zapatista prisoners and submitted a long-delayed self-determination bill to Congress. Get the Story:
