Sioux tribe worried about mold

FRIDAY, JANUARY 11, 2002 Calling the situation an emergency, the Oglala Lakota Tribe of South Dakota is asking the Bureau of Indian Affairs and the Centers for Disease Control for help in dealing with a mold infesting homes on the reservation. The tribe said it first wants to determine if the mold is toxic. Depending on the type, mold can cause numerous health problems, such as coughing, nausea, sickness and death. The Turtle Mountain Ojibwe Tribe of North Dakota has been dealing with a mold infestation, blamed for several deaths. Get the Story:
