SEPTEMBER 11, 2000 The Onondaga Nation of New York will be able to hold onto the services of Dr. Patricia Berry, now that the state Department of Health has decided not to remove her and replace her with nurse practitioners. The clinic is going to be taken over by the Syracuse Community Health Center. Previously, it had been operated by Upstate Medical University through a state contract, but the University pulled out in April, leading to the new contract with Syracuse. Complaints from the tribe, however, have persuaded the state to change its mind. The state provides free medical and dental services at the clinic. Get the Story:
