Preliminary results of a health care study place American Indians with the highest mortality rate among all ethnic groups in the state.

According to the study, conducted by the Wyoming Primary Care Association, Indians in the state rank higher than Indians in other states in stroke, diabetes, heart disease, lung cancer, suicide and accidents.

Access to health care is difficult for Indians in the state, say tribal health experts.
