University pulls out of Onondaga clinic
The Onondaga Nation has contracted with a for-profit health corporation to run their health center for three months, since their previous health care operator, Upstate Medical University, has pulled out of the clinic. The university decided to withdraw from the contract to focus their resources on other projects. Tribal leaders speculate the unversity did not like dealing with the state department of health who is mandated by law to provide health services to the Onondaga.
