JANUARY 5, 2000 The New Mexico Court of Appeals on Thursday upheld the sentencing of Gordon House, a Navajo man who killed three people and injured another in a drunk driving accident in 1992. House had been sentenced to five separate prison terms -- one for each person. He argued he should have only been sentenced for one crime rather than 22 years but the appeals court disagreed. The House case brought about DWI reforms in the state. His trial was a series of mistrials, hung juries, and numerous appeals. Get the Story:
