WEDNESDAY, MAY 1, 2002 The Stoney Nakoda First Nation of Alberta is threatening to cut all oil and gas leases on the reserve. The band says the federal government has failed to collect $10 million in underpaid royalties for drilling on reserve land. A court decision prohibits oil companies from deducting royalties but the band says Indian Oil and Gas Canada, a federal agency, isn't following the ruling and has failed to issue orders to pay.
