Blackfeet wind project on hold

WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 20, 2002 The Bonneville Power Administration has delayed plans to start a commercial wind farm on Blackfeet Reservation in Montana, saying it needs more time to study the project. But tribal chairman Earl Old Person believes that means BPA will say no. One of the tribe's partners says the project is not economically viable anymore. Costs, low energy prices and an expiration of a tax credit for wind project are being cited as reasons for the demise. Get the Story:
