MARCH 5, 2001 A lawsuit intended to sort out the water rights of Zuni Pueblo and the Navajo Nation has angered many New Mexican landowners who have been named as defendants by the federal government. The lawsuit was filed in January in federal district court in New Mexico. It seeks to define the water rights of over 1,000 property owners in the Zuni River basin in parts of McKinley and Cibola counties. Get the Story:
