MARCH 1, 2001 Senator Joe Lieberman (D-Conn) and Representatives Ed Markey (D-Mass) and Nancy Johnson (R-Conn) on Wednesday introduced bills to designate the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR) a wildnerness area. The action would prevent future development. Congress could always change the status later, however. Get the Story:
