UN said impressed with Connecticut

Officials from the United Nations Environment Program were impressed with their tour of southeatern Connecticut and may choose to hold a children's conference there in July 2002.

A New York organization and a group funded by the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation invited the officials to Connecticut. They concluded their two-day tour on Wednesday.

Facilities of the tribe and throughout the region would be used for the conference. The tribe said it will also host a powwow for guests.
