Bush seeks cuts at Smithsonian

THURSDAY, DECEMBER 6, 2001 The Bush administration is seeking to cut funds to the Smithsonian Institute's budget for fiscal year 2003, The Washington Post reports today. The cuts identified by the paper do not include any to the National Museum of the American Indian. But in a letter to the White House Office of Management and Budget, several lawmakers cite the museum as critical to the Smithsonian's mission. Get the Story:
