Luna County officials in New Mexico are trying to find an historic site where Warm Springs Band Apaches battled the Buffalo Soldiers.

With the help of a $1,980 grant from the state, they'll be looking for it this fall. All they really know about the January 1877 battle is that it took place in the Florida Mountains

The Buffalo Soldiers were all-Black Army regiments who were assiged to the Indian Wars in the late 1800s.
